Your input is welcome and appreciated.

Description of [Better Business: Kalah] component:

The current release includes a preliminary version of Better Business: Kalah. If you wish to use this component, do not install the Kalah And What He Was Promised component of Unfinished Business.

Under this component, an Evil character has the following additional options:

a.) trade Aerie to Kalah (if Aerie is in the party)

b.) threaten Kalah but question why Kalah and CHARNAME should be enemies

Aerie becomes Kalah's slave if traded to him.

In either case, the character gains the Ring of Human Influence and Kalah's goodwill. Kalah's Tower becomes permanent, and the character may use the location as a stronghold.

Good characters should not notice any difference when completing the quest (except for a very slightly more difficult fight with Kalah).

Tower Guardian Quest [Better Business: Kalah]:  A simple stronghold quest in which Kalah gives you a bindstone and tells you the location of Thaxll'ssillyia the Shadow Dragon. If the bindstone is in your possession when you bring the creature to 1/3 of its health, you can force the beast to abandon the Shade Lord and become the Tower's bridge guardian.

The party gains 22,000 XP for completion of the quest (gained when the party returns to the Tower and speaks with Kalah; this is the same amount of XP the party would have gained for slaying Thaxll'ssillyia). The party does not gain the 3,200 gold or the Shadow Dragon Scales that it would have gained for slaying Thaxll'ssillyia. Instead, Kalah has prepared a gift for CHARNAME: Shadowpact Armor +6 (similiar to Shadow Dragon Scale +6 but has +75% Resistance to Acid and +25 Hide in Shadows). Conceptually, the armor is a combination of the Shadow Dragon Scale +6 and the stealth enhancing armors such as The Night's Gift.

Future releases will include:

a.) more stronghold quests for Kalah's Tower

b.) the revelation of Kalah's Master

Components planned for Preview Release 6:

Taint Carsomyr [Better Business: Kalah]:  After you've bound Thaxll'ssyllia as tower guardian, the dragon mentions Carsomyr in casual conversation (if you talk to him). Long ago, a Paladin of Amaunator dealt him a severe injury with that blade. Thaxll'ssyllia asks you to bring him the holy sword if you ever come to possess it.

When you bring him the weapon, Thaxll'ssyllia reveals his plan for revenge against his old enemy (now long dead). The dragon has found a spell by which to taint Carsomyr and allow an Evil man (or woman) to wield the blade. In exchange for helping him enact his revenge, Thaxll'syllia gives you the tainted weapon and the Scroll of Crom Faeyr.

More Updated Tweaks:  More from Natural Selection and Twist Pack...

Comments welcome!  Ideas welcome!

 Cool

Wow! This sounds like a honey for my ears  The classic \ I have also got some additional suggestions:
- at first, you should enhance old NS/Twist components, especially Darkfriend kit. It's just weak - you gain 3 spells, and loose all normal shapechanging! My proposition is:

DARKFRIEND: ...

Sphere access:
- Major: all, monsters, elemental (all), plants, sun, weather

Advantages:
- At 7th level can once per day shapechange into Giant spider, Ogre and Troll
- Gain bonus Monster sphere, which allows him to cast: Summon monster I, II, III, Hold Monster, Summon Carrion Crawler, Spider Spawn, Beast Claws.
- At 15th level gain immunity to poisons and hold/paralyse effects
- At 17th, 19th and 21th levels he gains +10% immunity to acid

Disadvantages:
- Lose access to animal sphere
- Lose normal shapechange
- Lose druid abilities like a elemental immunities etc.

- Next thing is that armour which you gain when capture Shadow dragon. It's overpowered... +3 enchament with his bonuses will be great Smiley
- I think the first quest which you can have from your master will be remove this odd and stupid guard at outdoor of Circus. You know, he's still staying there and waiting for miracle Tongue And you have got two resons:
a) Kill him on street. But he will shout and you have got troubles.
b) Make guard to go to circus and die. It's better idea.

- Next thing which is irrating in BG2 - when your reputation lower to 1, everyone are enemies and you loose one area for quests/dialogues etc. You can make neat-cheat to remove possibility to gain 1 reputation from standard, non-quest evil deeds like a pickpocket or kill someone Smiley
- Can you create possiblity of sacrfice Aerie for devils/demons? It will give you possibility of summon devil/demon which can give you something:
 * effects like a Wish spell at highest wisdom/inteligence/level scores
 * powerful, EVIL, magical item
 * Dark Speech arcana (for evil bards)
 * Dark spells
 * powerfull demon who will serve you for some time (maybe it's a NPC idea?)

If you want, I can help you, because I have got many PnP materials (especially Book of Vile Darkness will be useful). And also I can post here some of my evil kits Cheesy

Cheers,
Yarp.

PS. And one thing - Morrow Gate slowly rulz. Cheesy

This sounds really cool. While I generally never play as an evil PC, quest mods are always a good thing.

Even so, I have to nitpick and point out that- like SixOfSpades said in another thread- Thaxll'syllia is female.  Cheesy

She has lived her life hunted and hated. Can you show Kari the compassion she deserves? The Kari the Kobold mod is now in Beta!

I have got next idea - Trademeet druids quest enhacements.

At first - reward for evil solution of quest. I think this halfling who's giving to you a poison, also can equip you with some sort of weapon against druids. Maybe a sort of ancient axe NATURE KILLER, which slays animals, grants immunity to entangle and insect swarm. Smiley

Also - maybe you can create a possiblity to join to Faldorn, and attack Trademeet. After that Trademeet become shadow druids city Smiley It can be an option for evil druids.

@Yarpen:  Good ideas, especially the Shadow Druid stuff.  I'm taking a break from coding for the next few days (most likely three days).  After that, I'll finish up what I'm working on and think some more about your suggestions.

@Tameon:  Thax is coded as a male.  The dialog file doesn't seem to indicate a particular gender.  If anyone can come up with good evidence that Thax is female, then I'll gladly change the gender.  Smiley

Thanks for the feedback!

I actually had a Trademeet Druid Quest Improvement planned, so I'd appreciate it if you would mind skipping that over... Smiley

I'll skip it on the condition that you code a cool "Evil path".  Evilness!  Less work for me.  Wink

Wow, this is looking very interesting!

I never play evil characters (I'm too goody-goody for that), but I *really* like the tweaks you've done on the charisma stat, ie the ring of human influence and buying prices.

Thanks!  I appreciate the kind words, and I'm glad that you find at least some of the components useful.  Smiley

I would rather play evil than good and I find this a refreshing change.  Now I can finally play the CE Hexblade and not worry about doing too much goody goody stuff.  If you end up changing every quest so that there is a good and evil path you will be worshipped by all the evildoers in the world  (lmao).  If ya need some help give me a yell.

Thanks, ronin!  Cool

Coding is slow right now (Thanksgiving week, plus I'll be moving for the next two weeks... packing, cleaning, etc... my PC is actually disassembled right now... Cry ).  With luck, I'll be settled into the new place in a few weeks and can resume my maniacal quest.  Grin

I am very glad to hear about this mod, since although i play as a goody-two-shoes most of the time, it is only because in bg2/[insert generic rpg here], ever offer a good evil rp experience. For example let's see the girl and teddy bear quest, the only evil part in it would be killing the thief and retaining the bear in an unmoded game. In a moded game you could add the folowing additions to evil paths:
-Taking the bear and using it to trap the little girls soul, while you would control her and thus have a familiar of some sort, or at least a rechargeable item with a nice special function, e.g. lament of the innocent = stuns all enemies in x radius making them cry out of despair.
-Taking the bear and blackmailing the girls family for it, and thus getting some money for it.
-Taking the bear and giving it to [insert evil demons name here] and getting a reward for it, since the girl would go to the bear and the demon could get her soul that way.

Sometimes i'm so evil i disgust myself  Grin

anyway, i wanted to say that i love your work already and welcome any future ideas you might have, but would like to make a request, could you add a component to the part with the ring of influence to actually update the description, reflecting the changes.

And as to kalah i would say remove him completly and add an option, where you could use the last whish for yourself to keep the circus the way it is, where the rakasha would show up after you formed your wish, and act as the quest giver. I just can't picture kalah being that important.
